AdPha joins forces with top intern program to power future pharmacists

Advanced Pharmacy Australia (AdPha) announces free membership for National Alliance for Pharmacy Education (NAPE) interns as ANZCAP Pharmacy Student of the Year competition returns.

Advanced Pharmacy Australia (AdPha) now offers free membership to all interns enrolled in NAPE University internship programs as part of a new partnership aimed at ensuring knowledge networks and growth opportunities support emerging practitioners in this crucial year.

Announced today, the AdPha-NAPE Intern offering is an exclusive opportunity for interns enrolled at Monash University, the University of Queensland, the University of South Australia or the University of Sydney to enjoy the full benefits of AdPha Provisional Membership, including free access to the portfolio-building platform of the Australian and New Zealand College of Advanced Pharmacy (ANZCAP).

AdPha Resident candidate Georgia Bridges says new offering will expand NAPE interns’ opportunities for growth.

‘There is so much to take in during your intern year, and it is so important to stay connected to like-minded professionals as you chart your own path.

‘I am currently undertaking a Resident Training Program in the hospital setting, and I know that having free access to AdPha’s networking and peer support, events and resources, and personal and professional development opportunities can provide enormous benefit heading toward your first ANZCAP recognition.'

AdPha is today also calling for submissions for its annual ANZCAP Pharmacy Student of the Year competition, recognising students who demonstrate diversity in their learning through ANZCAP’s portfolio-building platform, with the recipient attending Australia’s largest scientific pharmacy conference – Medicines Management 2025, this year taking place in Melbourne in November.

AdPha Vice President Dr Kate O'Hara FANZCAP (Neonatol., Paeds), Chair of the ANZCAP Advisory Board, says the AdPha-NAPE Intern offering adds to the series of benefits that wrap around pharmacy practitioners from students and trainees to innovators and leaders.

‘In such an ever-evolving health care landscape, it is crucial that students are supported regularly and from their earliest stages to map their career progression.

'Pharmacy is a unique profession, offering enormous breadth for growth through numerous and expanding areas of specialty practice.

‘AdPha is proud to offer programs, peer networks, education, events, resources and development opportunities that support each member from their days as a student, through their early career into leadership, generalist and specialty positions.

‘AdPha membership, including free access to ANZCAP, is the throughline of knowledge-sharing and community that connects each career stage.’
